Win a full Templar code provided by Zion Shad for participating in the 21 Day Templar Forum Warrior Event. Players earn daily points by holding the last time stamp (down to the minute) before the indicated daily time to beat. The player with the most daily points wins the Templar Code. The contest starts today (2014.05.28 06:00) and ends 21 days from this point.
Track your progress and see which daily times you need to beat here in the link.
Important: Entries are valid both within this topic and the linked topic on the Legion Forums. Please use this space in GD to discuss potential server side changes that could positively impact corporation meta and function.
Expanding Corporation Roles in EVE: Legion

Current Session: Please constructively discuss low development time corporation functions and attributes you would like to see featured in Dust 514.
-Contribution Tab: A mechanic or api driven tools for helping players understand how much they've given to a corporation in battle taxes and helps corp directors initiate payroll systems with this information.

Remember today's daily time to beat is 11:00 UTC [Eve time]. The daily time goes down by 1 hour each day (i.e. 10:00 UTC tomorrow). This works for both threads.

I just make a random post at 10:59? and then tomorrow at 9:59? etc
Or do you want a constructive post made at that time?
Testing something Alright, before I begin responding to your thoughts, great by the way, I will answer your first question.
Yes, I would prefer if response were constructive, however it doesn't need to be. This is essentially an elaborate forum bumping system to generate views and consistent interaction with this subject. Also don't forget the mirror topic in the Legion forums is included in this event. As it worked out tonight, you and I both scored daily points.
You see the time stamps here.

@Leeroy Gannarsein
Agreed. Getting an easier sense for overall corp activity would be good data to know wherever you are on the corporate ladder. I know Eve corp tools show in-game a relative last log-in date, eve for us Dust mercs (shared EVE/Dust corps like Xer). Again that might only be visible to directors and CEOs.
Also, to kick players you must either be a CEO, Director, or have Personnel Management Roles roles. If you are asking from experience in Xer, as a Director you cannot kick or remove the roles of other directors or your CEO.
Yes, a calendar would be a great feature. One already exists in EVE and is nicely integrated with the forums and API tools so you don't need to access the game in order to stay on top of what's going on with Internet Spaceships.
For that matter, I am wonder what is limiting CCP Shanghai from implementing a lot of quality of life features from the EVE forums into the Dust forums. -You can send and receive messages from people in-game -View a corp calendar -Check personal wallet.

You have to hold the closest timestamp to the downtime. There may be multiple winners in a day's thread if and only if those players hold the same timestamp (for example 2014.05.28 10:59, 2014.05.28 10:59)

Please note Mr. Ridgeson that you can post twice in one minute, which means you could in theory post twice at 9:58 in the less active Legion Topic (if no one contests you with a 9:59 post there) and twice here at 9:59 tonight, giving you 4 daily points.
Consider this a legitimate strategy.

I-Shayz-I wrote:First thing is some sort of better way to compare corporations. Instead of leaderboards for kills and how much they stomp in Dust, maybe something like the average time players have spent in the corp. Lower values would mean people don't stay in the corp for very long, while higher values mean that it's been a lasting corp that people enjoy.
Other things corps can be ranked by: -Player count (already visible, but only when you display details for corporations) -Average player sp?
Some of this data is already visible through 3rd party tools such as Dust Boards which shows the average time mercs have spent with the corp. While 3rd party tools can relieve the development strain of CCP to represent all data points in-game a lot of these features would be great to see in-game. Plus, not every new player is going to know about or have the slightest idea what 3rd party resources are available.

I-Shayz-I wrote: As for corporation functions...I'd like to see some sort of system in place that can set certain values or "pay rates" to either rankings or just players in general. I'm not in a corporation that does this, but I know that CEOs have to manually pay everyone individually, so something to ease the process.
Great idea! I discussed a point before regarding subscriptions where you could indicate pay x, y amount every z. However, your method of grouping people into rankings or subsets to define who gets what might be more straightforward and easier to manage on a large scale.

Back to the conversations at hand.
I-Shayz-I wrote:It's a stretch idea, but something I've always wanted was a corp supply chest. In MMO games, guilds usually have something like this where you can store valuable things that you might not need, but someone else would. I know that the whole concept of player trading and the market won't ever come, but even it was just a list of items similar to our fitting screen menus that could be controlled by the CEO...
I mean yeah it might cause problems with trading and people wanting to go through CEOs in order to sell this or that. But maybe you could restrict it to items only able to be purchased on the marketplace.
I like this. A corporation quartermaster. Along these lines I would like to see a corporation Info database in-game, such a recommended PC fittings and skills, corp guidelines, and contact info. Something that would help directors and personnel managers from having to keep forwarding old emails to new people. If that's not possible, it would be nice for directors/managers to be able to bulk email players with a check box.
Then again, much of this could (and is) already handled out of game very well.

I-Shayz-I wrote:Or what about being able to see a player's corp rank in the chat menu? Maybe just in the player info when you select someone's name? A lot of information is from the show info tab lacking or requires some convoluted steps to access, such as searching a player's WP totals and KDR. A lot of this should exist on on single unified character sheet that displays when you select show info.
As for corp rank, I'm trying to think how to structure this so it's not too cluttered. Also are you talking about roles, or ranks that CEO/Directors name and place upon players?
